Leading Growth and Expansion
I was contracted to build two websites, and, soon elevated by Bike Rent NYC to Executive Consultant for Operations and Marketing, the company had two outlets near Central Park. My goal was to expand our footprint and enhance our market presence.
By focusing on growth strategies and customer satisfaction, we expanded to over 20 outlets across New York City. Our team’s efforts transformed our small operation into a city-wide network of bike rental locations.
What role did technology play in transforming Bike Rent NYC into a market leader?
Innovating with Technology
Technology was crucial for business success. at Bike Rent NYC, I was responsible for overseeing our tech-driven projects.
We developed multiple top-ranked websites on Google, created a custom Point-of-Sale (POS) system, and implemented an Internet of Things (IoT) based workforce management system.
These innovations streamlined our operations and improved the customer experience. Working with my friend and tech expert, Oleg Sunko, we brought these projects to life and saw incredible results.
What were the key strategies and innovations that drove Bike Rent NYC’s success story?
Fostering Strategic Partnerships
Securing strategic partnerships was another key aspect of my role. By conducting comprehensive market studies and leveraging data-informed strategies, we successfully secured a $60M 6-year Request For Proposal (RFP) contract with the City of New York and the NYC Parks & Recreation Department.
How did we secure exclusive bike rental rights in Central Park and Manhattan Parks?
This contract granted us exclusive bike rental rights in Central Park and all Manhattan Parks, allowing us to serve the millions of tourists who visit Central Park each year.
Building a Public Identity Rebranding Sayat Bike Rental to Bike Rent NYC was a significant milestone in our journey.
As the public face of the company, I managed our public image, authored press releases, and represented the company in various media outlets.
Our commitment to transparency and excellent customer service was highlighted in features on Channel 7 News, the NY Post, and Telemundo.
These efforts helped build a strong and recognizable brand.
How did restoring historic landmarks become a part of our bike rental business strategy? Restoring Historic Landmarks
One of the projects I am most proud of is the restoration of two historic kiosks at Columbus Circle in Central Park.
Recognizing their value as city landmarks, I led a preservation initiative involving expert architects and restorers.
This effort not only preserved important parts of NYC’s heritage but also enhanced the visitor experience in Central Park.
Prioritizing Safety and Well-being
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our staff was always a top priority.
I spearheaded initiatives to protect our employees from the threats posed by illegal bike vendors, creating a safe and supportive work environment.
Conclusion
Reflecting on my tenure at Bike Rent NYC, I am proud of the growth, technological innovation, and strategic partnerships we achieved.
